Boss Raids was a feature accessible to players at level 130 and above, serving as an alternative to the traditional dungeon format. It was released in four parts, with the first seven tiers arriving first, followed by five more, then eight more, and ultimately ten more for a total of 30 tiers. In order to access Boss Raids, players need to obtain a key corresponding with a specific tier, or otherwise join a user who has that specific key. Raids can hold a maximum of 10 players and must be completed within 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Like regular dungeons, the host can make the party of a raid private.
Boss Raids can be accessed by walking near the crystal shrine in Lobby 2, or by walking inside the red circle near spawn in private Lobby 1 servers. Before the raid begins, everyone must press āREADYā. Everyone will then be given five seconds before the boss spawns. If a player leaves before the raid starts, their āREADYā will no longer be needed; however, the health of the boss will not scale back correctly.
Boss Raids was superseded by a remastered version on 2024-05-23.
Lives (REMOVED)
Unlike regular dungeons, there is no Hardcore mode; instead, every player receives three lives. Players respawn and lose one life each time they die. Players will not respawn if all of their lives are depleted. Dying before the boss spawns will not remove a life.
Since its inception in Boss Raids, the Lives mechanic has also been utilized in the Glitch dungeon, Pumpkin King, Odin Reincarnation, and Krampus.
Lives in Boss Raids has been removed. The date at which it was removed is currently unknown. Instead of having a set amount of lives to have, the party has a timer, and dying will remove tenseconds from the timer like in dungeons.
Tiers
There are 30 tiers in Boss Raids, with Tier 1 being the lowest tier and Tier 30 being the highest. In each tier, the boss has more health and does more damage than the previous tier. Loot and gold drops also scale accordingly. Level 130 players are able to join any public Boss Raid party, but in order to create a lobby, the player must have the corresponding Key.
Additionally, the party host can add a tier requirement; for example, a raid with a requirement of Tier 6 means that for players to join the lobby, they must have beaten at least a Tier 6 raid.
Keys
Tier 1 keys can be obtained from the Steampunk Sewers dungeon on Nightmare difficulty. When using the highest key, the host has a 100% chance of getting the key for the next tier if the raid is successful. However, doing so also risks losing that key, as it is removed and only returned if the raid is successful. Only the host's key is required when creating a boss raid; other players that join do not need the same key as well, and as a result cannot receive or lose keys.
If the highest key that the host has is for Tier 6, the host will also have all keys from Tier 1 to 5. In this case, after completing Tier 6, the host would have keys up to Tier 7. If the raid is unsuccessful or the host leaves early, the host would only have keys up to Tier 5. Keys will not be destroyed if the host loses in any tier below their highest available key.
Maps
There were three different maps the player can teleport to when starting a room. There are no official names for these rooms, but they are typically referred to by their armor names as follows:
- āInventor mapā (Tier 1+)
- āHeavenly mapā (Tier 6+)
- āNature mapā (Tier 12+)
Each map had two unique bosses and a different loot table from one another.
Bosses
Boss Raids had a total of six unique bosses, with each requiring a minimum tier to spawn. Fusion Goliath can be fought in all Tiers. Robot Gladiator starts to appear at Tier 3. Gilded Dragon starts to appear at Tier 6. Golden Golem starts to appear at Tier 9. Earth Golem starts to appear at Tier 12. Ancient Stone Guardian starts to appear at Tier 15.
The generally recommended health at Tier 30 is 10M hp.
Fusion Goliath
The Fusion Goliath was the first boss that can appear on the Inventor map. The Fusion Goliath is a humanoid robot that was created by the inventors. It has one eye, two cannons on its hips, steam holes above its head, and a single eye in the center of its head.
The Fusion Goliath's main theme was: (raw) Tough Struggle A
X-Target Throughout the fight, circles will appear occasionally at a random player's position for one second before dealing damage to anyone within its range. Immediately after, two lines perpendicular to each other will be created, which also damage players after one second. Since the lines have a far reach, they have a high chance of indirectly hitting other players. To avoid this, players should be spaced in order to avoid stacking each other. |
Barrage The Goliath will fire two intersecting beams diagonally at a player which will lead to many parallel lines being created. For this attack, a player can turn perpendicular to the beams, facing away from the Goliath, making it easier for affected players to dodge the barrage if they cannot outrun it. |
Blast Rings After the previous attack, multiple small circles around the Goliath will appear and spread out, with the radius of the circle growing larger as it moves further out from the boss. The bigger the circle, the longer it takes to deal damage. Each circle will spread outward four times from the original. The position where the circles appear is randomized, but they will always spawn together in a ring around the boss. It is recommended to stay close to the Goliath during this attack, while still remaining wary of the X-Target and Flame Minions. |
Boiling Engine The Goliath will create four Flame Minions near the boss which act as melee enemies. Each Flame Minion's total health point is 1/10th of the boss's maximum health. If any minions are alive after one full attack cycle, they will become enraged, and any vanquished minions will respawn. An "enraged" minion is much faster than a normal minion, making it easy for them to catch up to a player. These minions are similar to the Blood Minions from The Underworld, except that they become enraged based on the attack cycle rather than the amount alive at once. Using a speed spell, primarily from Steampunk Sewers, is recommended when fighting this boss in order to easily avoid the minions. |
Robot Gladiator
The Robot Gladiator was the second boss that can appear on the Inventor map. The Robot Gladiator is a humanoid robot that was created by the inventors. It features purple details and has a purple crest above its head.
The Robot Gladiator's main theme was: (raw) Tough Struggle A
Arc Energy Blasts: Fires multiple beams that curve and turn toward a random player. This attack is capable of dealing multiple ticks of damage on a single line. Staying close to the Gladiator may prove to be an efficient strategy, since it allows the player to outrun this attack. |
Energy Rope: The Gladiator will grab a random player, and will begin dragging them towards to itself. After the player has been pulled, it then slam on the ground. If this slam connects with a player, they are hit with a critical hit which does twice the base damage of the other attacks. It is recommended to use a speed spell to avoid this attack, since the other attacks are still able to target the player. |
Shockwave: Right after the Gladiator slams the ground, a shockwave is created from the edge of the slam attack which spans throughout the room. Each of these shocks is shaped in a square, with a large enough gap between each wave to allow the player to dodge. If the player was pulled using Chain Reaction, it is advised to run out past the first wave, since they will also be out of the range of the slam. If the player was not pulled using Chain Reaction, they should be aware of the shockwave that occurs shortly after the slam. |
Energy Orbs: Passive orbs will constantly spawn around the arena positioned around the boss. These orbs are sentries that constantly aim at players and shoot beams in their direction. A maximum of four can be present at any given time. If the player is aware of the location of these orbs, it is more likely that the player can anticipate when the orb will target them. |
Gilded Dragon
The Gilded Dragon was the first boss that can appear on the Heavenly map. The Gilded Dragon is a jade-colored dragon with yellow trim and its hometown is Gilded Skies.
The Gilded Dragon's main theme was: (raw) Ashes of Olympus (a)
Stone Statues [Passive]: Passively throughout the fight, four statues positioned at both sides of the map (two per side) will shoot beams every so often in random directions. The statues cannot be destroyed. |
Dragon's Breath: There are two variations of this attack, perpendicular and barrage, each of which start with the dragon turning to face a random player. The perpendicular version of this attack creates many lines perpendicular to the direction the dragon is facing, with the lines being spread out with gaps for players to fit in between. The barrage version of this attack creates many lines in the direction the player is facing with gaps for players to fit in between, which happens twice, the second time often having slightly different gap positions. |
Wing Slash: The dragon claps its wings and sends out six tornadoes flying in set direction. The tornadoes deal quick damage, meaning they can hit a player more than once. |
Energy Orbs: An orb will appear on either side of the arena and will have to be defeated before the boss can be damaged again. The orb will constantly spawn Stone Minions that make their way quickly to the player. When a Stone Minion reaching a player, it will detonate after a short delay and damage anyone caught within their radius. Additionally, after destroying the orb, the Gilded Dragon takes a set amount of damage. If multiple people hit the orb in quick succession once it has been defeated, more damage will be done to the dragon. The orb has 1/10 of the Dragon's total health while the Stone Minion has 1/22 of the Dragon's total health. |
Golden Golem
The Golden Golem was the second boss that can appear on the Heavenly map. The Golden Golem is comprised of multiple pieces of gold formed together with jagged arms and a red visor-like eye.
The Golden Golem's main theme was: (raw) Ruler of Reality B
Golden Beams: Throughout the fight, beams will appear periodically with a random distance between one another in a similar fashion to the Corrupt Overlord from Ghastly Harbor. |
Falling Rocks: First, the Golden Golem stabs the ground with its left arm, causing multiple rocks to fall onto randomized spots, with each dealing damage in a large radius. |
Precision Strike: Then, the Golden Golem creates a red beam starting from its position which heads toward the direction of a random player. Any player hit by the beam will be pulled toward the Golem, trapped inside a stun orb, and are instantly killed regardless of how much health the player currently has. |
Golden Energy Burst: After this, the Golden Golem lights up its left arm and summons a circle that is positioned onto all players. The circles deal two ticks of damage, with the circles doubling in size after the first tick. |
Golden Dash: Finally, the Golden Golem dashes from the back of the room to the front, leaving five beams that stretch from the entrance and throughout the room. After this, the Golem dashes back to its origin point, again leaving five beams behind it. |
Earth Golem
The Earth Golem was the first boss that can appear on the Nature map. The Earth Golem is comprised of multiple pieces of smooth stone formed together, sharp claws, a thin moss covering the upper portion of the head, chest, and shoulders, and two glowing green eyes.
The Earth Golem's main theme was: (raw) Warlord
Rock Fall [Passive]: Throughout the fight, the Earth Golem will passively target a random player with a rock with an attack consisting of two perpendicular lines and a small circle in the center. |
Nature Wave: First, the Earth Golem will turn to face a random player and create five lines in a radial formation in the direction it is facing. |
Nature Energy Burst: Then, the Earth Golem smashes the ground, creating an eight-pointed asterisk (*) originating from the boss, making it so each beam is rotated at a 45Ā° angle from the middle. The Earth Golem does this again before moving to the next attack. |
Earthquake: Finally, the Earth Golem looks down before raising its hands in the air and summoning dozens of large rocks throughout the map, with each making contact and dealing damage very quickly after appearing. This attack spreads from the entrance of the room to the back. The attack cycle then repeats. |
Ancient Stone Guardian
The Ancient Stone Guardian was the second boss that can appear on the Nature map. The Ancient Stone Guardian is a large humanoid that wears armor consisting of stone and moss with an enlarged and recolored Sharktooth Blade.
The Ancient Stone Guardian's main theme was: (raw) Warlord
Target Square [Passive]: Throughout the fight, the Ancient Stone Guardian will passively target a random player with a square outline. This attack also occurs during the Titan Barrier phase. |
Nature Orbs: First, the Ancient Stone Guardian stabs the ground, summoning eight large orbs that fire outward from the boss toward a random player. If a player gets hit by the orb, all other living players will receive AoE damage. |
Blade Sweep: Then, the Ancient Stone Guardian targets a random player, creating eleven beams angled outward directly in front of where the boss is facing. Each line is spaced 15Ā° apart and the center line is aimed at the targeted player. Shortly after the beams appear, the boss swings the sword from right to left, with all of the beams activating to deal damage at the same time. |
Energy Spin: After that, the Ancient Stone Guardian will charge up before spinning in place, rapidly firing random beams in all directions. After spinning around four times, the attack cycle repeats. |
Titan's Barrier: After every fourth attack cycle, the Ancient Stone Guardian will stab their sword into the ground, creating a barrier which makes them invulnerable to damage and summoning six Stone Warriors to attack the player. The Stone Warriors have 1/10 of the Guardian's health, and must be defeated in order to bring the barrier down. When all of the Stone Warriors are defeated, the barrier disappears and the boss loses a small chunk of their maximum health, with the attack cycle returning to normal. |
Boss Health
The health scaling of bosses in Boss Raids is different from dungeons, being based primarily around tiers rather than entirely on the amount of players present. The tables below show the full health values at every tier with every possible player amount.

Drops
At the end of a successful Boss Raid, players were able to drop one ability, armor, or weapon listed below at the respective tier that they completed. If the player owns the Extra Item game pass, they will drop two items instead. Because there is no Hardcore mode in Boss Raids, players will not be able to drop an additional item.
Another thing to consider is that items with the same tier and rarity will have the same base average stats regardless of the map it is obtained from.
Ability Drops
Abilities dropped in Boss Raids use the same attack multipliers regardless of the tier they are obtained from. Because each tier changes the name and sell price of an ability, it is possible to trade multiple of the same ability as long as they are from a different tier.

EXP Earnings
The EXP earned is the same for all tiers. Here are the possible amounts that can be earned:
Tier | EXP | EXP (VIP) | EXP (Boost) | EXP (VIP and Boost) |
---|---|---|---|---|
ALL TIERS | 130M | 156M | 260M | 286M |
Gold Earnings
Unlike EXP, gold earnings increases with each tier. Here are the possible amounts that can be earned.
For tiers 2-29: Replace T with the applicable tier number and then calculate from left to right using all brackets as shown. A scientific calculator is recommended for best results. Round the answer down by disregarding any decimal value in the final result:
Tier | Gold | Gold (2x Gold Game Pass) |
---|---|---|
1 | 14,000,000 | 28,000,000 |
2 to 29 | ~ ((T-1) * 666,666.667) + 14,000,000 | ~ ((T-1) * 1,333,333.334) + 28,000,000 |
30 | 33,333,333 | 66,666,666 |
Trivia
- The key's texture comes from the Mann Co. keys from Team Fortress 2.
- In the Heavenly map, the Gilded Dragon, and the Golden Golem have their own boss theme.
- Initially, the drop rate of obtaining loot and gold upon completion of a raid was 33%. This was very shortly afterwards increased to 40%, and then further to 50%. With the 2019-12-06 update, loot and gold was made to be guaranteed upon completion, but the loot sell price and gold received was lowered by 33%.
- Weapons cannot be obtained in the Common rarity; non-legendary weapons can only be obtained in Uncommon, Rare, or Epic rarity.
- Despite the weapons and armors different looks in the different raids maps, none are actually better than the other, meaning weapons from the Nature map can have the same power as the weapons from the Inventor map.
- The Inventor map is the only map to only have two boss raids abilities.
- Climbing the pipes in the Inventor map or using other means to climb up will result in the player dying. Similarly to dying normally, a life will not be removed if there are players who are not ready.
- At the far right corner of the Inventor map there is a small gap. It has not been fixed yet, so it is possible to fall out of the map. Similarly to the above, a life will not be removed if there are players who are not ready.
- If a player loses connection or leaves when the dungeon has not fully loaded, then all the other players will be in an infinite waiting unless they leave. (The host will not lose their key if the dungeon has not loaded in when they leave).
- Some of the Weapons in the Inventors map are keys like weapons.
- In the Yokai Peak update, there was a bug that allowed armors to be dropped in the legendary rarity. There were no balance changes in this period meaning an armor in the Uncommon rarity would've had the same pot range as the old Common version and the chance for a legendary armor was not the same chance as the other legendaries.
