Abilities are an item that can be used in battle that provide a variety of effects. Abilities are used as the primary form of damage for Mages and Warriors, and the primary form of support for Healers and Tanks. Abilities will either scale with spell power, physical power, stamina, or are considered "taunts", which do not scale with anything. There are multiple types of abilities that players can use, with each serving as a damage ability, a support ability, or a combination of the two:
Damage abilities:
- Physical damage abilities: These abilities scale with Physical power and directly deal damage to enemies.
- Spell damage abilities: These abilities scale with Spell power and directly deal damage to enemies.
Support abilities:
- Healing abilities: These abilities scale with Spell power and are used to heal allies in said radius.
- Damage boosting abilities: These abilities are used in combination with a damage ability in order to boost the overall output of an attack.
- Speed boosting abilities: Some abilities provide players with a temporary speed boost.
- Taunting abilities: These abilities are used to pull enemies away from damage-dealing allies.
- Shield abilities: These abilities scale with Stamina (or the user's max HP) and provide a shield from damage up to a certain threshold.
Abilities[]
Each difficulty has multiple abilities that are able to drop, with damage-dealing abilities making up most of the abilities in Dungeon Quest. It is possible for the same ability to drop on multiple difficulties within the same map, though this amount gradually diminishes after Desert Temple and Winter Outpost. Unlike armors and weapons, abilities will always have a fixed rarity. The damage done with an ability typically scales with the dungeon and difficulty it is obtained from, with its rarity having negligible effect.
There are currently two Legendary abilities in Dungeon Quest, those being Enhanced Inner Focus and Enhanced Inner Rage. These abilities drop on Nightmare difficulty of Volcanic Chambers, Aquatic Temple, Enchanted Forest, and Northern Lands.
