Desert Temple is the first dungeon players can access, with the next dungeon being Winter Outpost at level 33. The theme of this dungeon is a deserted temple in a desert covered with sand and is based on the Egyptian times.
Desert Temple requires level 1 for Easy difficulty, level 6 for Medium difficulty, level 12 for Hard difficulty, level 20 for Insane difficulty, and level 27 for Nightmare difficulty. The primary mobs encountered here are the Sand Peasants, and the boss mob being the Sand Giant.
The main theme is (raw) Desert Attack.
Layout
Desert Temple is a maze-like dungeon with rubble and ruins scattered throughout the dungeon. It is the only dungeon in the game that uses procedural generation rather than just a linear map, therefore Desert Temple will usually have a different layout each time. Some rooms are a straight path, while others have obstructions or dead ends. Some rooms even have thin walls that allow players to attack enemies without the danger of being attacked back. This proves to be a very effective strategy in clearing the dungeon quickly. A total of 6 different room designs can generate, each with a slightly different layout and enemy count. The amount of rooms that can appear between the spawn and boss rooms increases with difficulty, starting at 4 rooms on Easy and up to 8 rooms on Nightmare difficulty.
Type 1(17 mobs, 2 fallen pillars and 1 fallen debris): Straight corridor. mobs spawn in 4, 4, 6, 3 respectively in order of appearance.
Type 2(23 mobs, 2 fallen pillars and 2 fallen debris): Straight path room with 2 sides branching off, mobs spawn in formation on left and right: 7(front left), 4(front right), 6(rear left), 6(rear right).
Type 3(24 mobs): Maze with thin walls. In order of appearance of the walking PATH its 4, 6, 8, 6.(Bolded ones can be attack through thin walls)
Type 4(20 mobs, 3 fallen pillars and 1 fallen debris): Straight path room with 2 sides branching off, mobs spawn in zigzag on left and right: 4(front right), 4(front left), 8(rear right), 4(rear left)
Type 5(20 mobs): Intersection with 2 paths, ONLY ONE IS RANDOMLY CHOSEN TO BE BLOCKED. Mobs spawn 4(front), 8(for each path).
Type 6(18 mobs, 1 statue, 1 fallen pillar and 1 fallen debris): Straight path room with 2 sides branching off. mobs spawn in formation on left and right: 6(front left), 4(front right), 6(rear right), 4(rear left)
Mob
The Sand Peasant is a melee-type mob. They are the only mobs that can spawn in Desert Temple. As the difficulty of the map increases, the health and damage of the Sand Peasants increase as well. Each additional player increases the amount of health that the Sand Peasants have by 25%. For example, if there are three players, Sand Peasants will have 50% more health than normal. This also applies to the Sand Giant.
The Sand Peasant has a base health of 30 HP and deals 5-7 damage on Easy, a base health of 80 HP and deals 9-11 damage on Medium, a base health of 250 HP and deals 10-25 damage on Hard, a base health of 750 HP and deals 29-37damage on Insane, and has a base health of 2.3K HP and deals 40-50 damage on Nightmare difficulty.
Boss
The Sand Giant is the boss of the Desert Temple. It resembles a large Sand Peasant, and it can be fought after completing every other room. The Sand Giant will first chase the player who attracted it, and then it will chase whoever has done the most damage if it has not been taunted. The Sand Giant will try to get close to the player, but it is easy to outrun. If players are too far away, the Sand Giant will not use either attack, and will only walk towards a player until it gets close enough to continue using attacks again. The Sand Giant has a total of two moves.
Fire Lines: Fire Lines creates three lines in front of the direction the Sand Giant was facing when creating the warning lines. The lines are spaced far enough for players to fit between them.
Smash: The Sand Giant will then attempt to smash one arm down in an attempt to hit a player. This attack does not require anybody to be close to it in order to activate.
The Sand Giant's main theme is (raw) Desert Storm (a). The Sand Giant has a base health of 275 HP and deals 15 damage on Easy, a base health of 600 HP and deals 55 damage on Medium, a base health of 3,450 HP and deals 55 damage on Hard, a base health of 8K HP and deals 80 damage on Insane, and has a base health of 28K HP and deals 115 damage on Nightmare difficulty.

Upon completing the dungeon, players receive a random item (two items if on Hardcore mode) and gold, similarly to other dungeons excluding event ones.
