DungeonQuestRoblox Wiki

Last updated: 2022-06-28 - Removed "Trading guidelines" and "Party Creation guidelines" sections. For our last major change, see this post.

These rules, the Discussion Board Guidelines, and the Fandom Terms of Use provide general guidelines that must be followed in order to retain the ability to comment and edit throughout the wiki.
By commenting or editing on this wiki, it is assumed that you have read and agreed to the rules set forth on this page.

Punishments for violations are handled on a case-by-case basis, with repeated or serious offenses typically having higher repercussions. Failure to follow the rules listed can typically result in the following:

Warning: After committing a minor violation, you receive a message from a wiki staff member that redirects you to this page, informing you about the violation you committed.
Block: After multiple warnings or for more serious violations, you receive a temporary ban from the DungeonQuestRoblox Wiki, which removes your ability to comment and edit.
Indefinite Block: After multiple blocks or for extremely serious violations, you receive an extended or indefinite ban from the wiki.

Global Rules

These rules apply throughout our entire wiki, regardless of whether you are commenting or editing:

1. All users must abide by the Fandom Terms of Use.
This wiki is a service provided by Fandom, meaning that it is subject to its Terms. Our rules page lists some, but not all, of the Terms listed on the link provided.
[punishment: depends on severity]

2. Usage of inappropriate or offensive language is prohibited.
"Inappropriate language" is defined as "any word or phrase used to refer to an inappropriate object, body part, or action". "Offensive language" is defined as "any word or phrases typically used to attack a person or group based on their race, nationality, traditions, gender identity, orientation, or ability."
[punishment: block]

3. Discussion of inappropriate topics is not allowed.
This is a wiki for a Roblox game; it is not the place for talking about sexual, religious, or political topics.
[punishments: warning, block]

4. Do not post or upload copyrighted or inappropriate media.
All images uploaded to the DungeonQuestRoblox Wiki must be family friendly, as well as in the public domain or used in a way that qualifies under United States fair use laws.
[punishments: block, indefinite block]

5. Treat others with respect and do not resort to harassment.
Users should be open-minded with one another, regardless of their thoughts on something or their amount of game knowledge, in order to ensure a healthy discourse throughout the wiki.
[punishments: warning, block]

6. Do not give rule-breakers the attention they desire.
Responding to or publicly mentioning rule-breakers in any manner, regardless of your intentions, has a tendency to create even more issues. Instead, quietly use the Report feature for posts or comments, use the Undo feature for edits, or privately contact a staff member.
[punishment: warning]

7. Do not make off-topic or unnecessary replies to old posts or comments.
Doing this is considered spam, as it notifies all parties that previously responded to a comment or post. This time limit is one week for all Discussion Board posts (with some exclusions), and one month for article comments and message wall posts. Replies to article comments are allowed to be made after one month's time, but must positively contribute to the conversation.
[punishment: block]

8. Do not commit or conspire to commit an act of vandalism, rule-breaking, or ā€œraidā€ toward our wiki or any other wiki or place.
These actions will not be tolerated.
[punishments: block, indefinite block]

9. No sockpuppeting or ban evasion.
Sockpuppets are alternate accounts created to evade bans or intentionally break rules. Similarly, creating an alternate account to ā€œappealā€ a block on your main is considered ban evasion. If you want to appeal a block, contact the person that blocked you on their Community page.
[punishment: longer or indefinite block for main and alt]

10. Impersonation of other users is not allowed.
This includes wiki and DQ staff, as well as any other individual on or off the wiki.
[punishment: block]

11. Do not ask for custom user tags, custom user badges, or moderation permissions.
Each of these items are given out by Wiki Staff to users who qualify for them.
[punishment: warning]

12. Discord invite links/codes are prohibited.
The only exceptions to this rule are to the vCaffy’s Games server and the Wiki Server.
[punishment: block, indefinite block]

13. All links used must be appropriate, safe, and only posted in the correct places.
Links that direct users to potentially harmful content are not allowed. Please read below for our full policy on links and where they can be posted:
- Roblox links and Official Roblox Interwiki links are allowed to be commented anywhere, assuming it relates to the topic of discussion.
- Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch links (aka Social Media) are ONLY allowed on User Pages and the Discussion Board.
- Anything not listed above that follows our rules is ONLY allowed on the Discussion Board.
[punishment: block]

Commenting Guidelines

These are our general rules for posting comments on articles and message walls throughout the wiki:

1. All of the Global Rules still apply when commenting.

2. Comments and replies must relate to the article it is posted on.
[punishments: warning, block]

3. Do not make spammy or useless comments or replies.
Spamming includes (but is not limited to) posting extremely long comments, replying multiple times to the same message when only one reply is needed, editing the same comment repeatedly, making the same comment multiple times, or making the same comment on multiple articles.
[punishments: warning, block]

Discussion Board guidelines

The Discussion Board is one of the main places where users can socialize on our wiki. It serves as a hub for communication, as well as for the creation of trade posts and in-game raids. Here are the rules for the entire discussion board:

1. All of the Global Rules still apply when using the Discussion Board.

2. Do not attempt to farm posts by making useless posts or replies.
Useless posts include page-stretching, making multiple replies to a post when only one is needed, attempting to solicit upvotes, or frequently making replies that do not contribute to the conversation.
[punishments: warning, block, full post purge]

3. Do not bump outdated or resolved threads.
This is considered necroposting, which is when a reply is made to a thread that is at least one week old where conversation has gone inactive. A ā€œresolvedā€ thread is any thread where the original intention has been completed, such as an answered question, a completed trade offer, or a dungeon party that has concluded.
[punishment: block]

4. Using any method to spam the notifications of others is prohibited.
This includes, but is not limited to, mass-liking posts.
[punishment: block]

5. Replies must relate to the thread it is posted on.
Derailing conversation, especially in an attempt to violate other rules, is not allowed.
[punishments: warning, block]

6. Do not make posts just to attack others or otherwise instigate drama.
This will not be tolerated. If you don't like somebody, keep that to yourself. Trying to start an argument with them will only make things worse.
[punishments: warning, block]

7. Use the correct category when creating posts.
You can either change the category you are viewing before creating a post (by switching the category you are viewing before writing), or you can change it when publishing your post (located above the ā€œTag Wiki Pagesā€ option). The following is a list of categories and what should be posted into them:
- General: Wiki and Dungeon Quest discussion, game updates, trades, in-game dungeon raids, and other insight.
- Question & Answer: For asking game/wiki related questions, creating game/wiki related polls, or posting win/fair/loss posts for trades.
- Artwork & Concepts: For fan-made artwork or suggestions/concepts pertaining to Dungeon Quest.
- Off Topic: For anything that does not fit in the other categories.
- Staff Announcements: Posts from Wiki Staff or FANDOM Staff for announcing changes and updates to the wiki or game.
[punishments: warning, block]

Editing Guidelines

These guidelines apply when making edits throughout the wiki. Some of these guidelines are rules with punishments, while others are mainly to keep an editing standard in place. Make sure to read this before editing to get an idea of what is expected.

If you are having trouble adding content to articles, your user page, or your user blog, or have questions about editing, please let a wiki staff member know.

1. All of the Global Rules still apply when making any edits across the wiki.

2. Edits must be in American English.
(Examples: Armor, Crystalized Greatsword, etc.). There are no plans at this time to translate articles into other languages.

3. Make sure to remain formal when making edits; use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- When making an edit to a page, make sure to avoid using 2nd-person (ex. "you") and informal contractions (ex. "don't" instead of "do not").
- If something in-game uses incorrect spelling, grammar, or punctuation, leave it as-is and/or denote it with a [sic.] or other similar note.
[punishment: warning]

4. Do not create useless articles.
Articles are only created for in-game content or for organization as designated by wiki staff.
- If you want to make a fan article or a page not directly related to game content, please use your User Blog. You can do this on your profile, or by visiting the Blogs page.
- The Discussion Board can also be used instead.
[punishments: warning, block]

5. Please obtain permission before making edits to another user’s page or blogs.
Blogs on Fandom are pages written by one person that can be commented on and organized into a listing, like a typical blog found elsewhere on the internet. They are in the "User" namespace and can only be edited by the user who created it, or an administrator.
- If a user has placed content that violates our rules on their user page or blogs, contact a wiki staff member.
[punishments: warning, block]

6. Do not add unnecessary categories, useless information, or excessive trivia to articles.
- Categories are almost always automatically added by our wiki’s Modules; the addition of categories beyond what is already on articles is almost unnecessary unless the article covers new content.
- Information on articles should relate entirely to the article and/or section it is placed within.
- Trivia should include generally interesting information or changes that may have occurred. Trivia should remain as short and concise as possible, since it is not meant to be the primary article content.
[punishments: warning, block]

7. Do not start or contribute to edit wars.
Check previous edit history before adding something to ensure it has not been removed previously. If your edit was removed by a wiki staff, there was a reason for it. Please review the rules and contact them if you have further questions.
[punishments: warning, block]

8. Any form of Vandalism done to articles, templates/infoboxes, categories, user pages, or blog posts is PROHIBITED.
The following is considered vandalism:
- Unnecessary removal of content (or blanking).
- Any edit that is ultimately spammy and/or inappropriate.
- Any malicious or bad-faith edit that is otherwise not covered above.
[punishments: block, indefinite block]
