Gilded Skies is the fifteenth dungeon in Dungeon Quest. It was released on 2022-11-25, and followed Northern Lands' release almost eleven months prior. The theme of this dungeon is dragon themed, and has jade and gold colors, as well as a religious civilization focused on Lumenflame magic, created by the Gildenscales.
Gilded Skies requires players to be level 190 for Insane difficulty, and level 195 for Nightmare difficulty. It is recommended to have at least 1.2B to 1.8B health (600M glass cannon) on Insane and at least 1.8B to 2.7B health (900M glass cannon) on Nightmare. Players have eleven minutes to clear the dungeon.
The main theme is (raw) Gilded Skies.
Mobs
In Gilded Skies, there are four different types of mobs. Each mob has around 5.34Q base health on Insane difficulty, and around 10.24Q base health on Nightmare difficulty. The mobs deal between 300M and 412M damage on Insane difficulty, and between 468M and 600M damage on Nightmare difficulty.
Dracani Warrior
The Dracani Warrior is a melee-type mob. The Dracani Warrior is a humanoid Dracani that serves in the Dracani army. The Dracani Warrior is wearing the Dracani Warrior set, and is holding the Dracani Gilded Sword on its right hand. Their leader is General Cragg and are followers for Lord Vytelus. The Dracani Warrior will follow the closest player or the player that has done the most damage to it, and once it reaches a player, it creates a lingering rectangle in front of itself and slashes forward six times.
Dracani Knight
The Dracani Knight is an AoE-type mob. The Dracani Knight is a humanoid Dracani that serves in the Dracani army. The Dracani Knight is wearing the Dracani Guardian Set and holds the Oathsworn Halberd on its right shoulder. Their leader is Tii, and are followers for Lord Vytelus. The Dracani Knight will follow the closest player or the player that has done the most damage to it. Once it reaches a player, it creates a circle attack around itself and slams its weapon to the ground (similar to the Temple Guard from Aquatic Temple), dealing triple the normal damage.
Dracani Mage
The Dracani Mage is a ranged-type mob. The Dracani Mage is a humanoid Dracani that serves in the Dracani army. The Dracani Mage is wearing the Dracani Mage set and is holding the Dracani Gilded Staff on its right hand. Their leader is Archpriest Kiryne and are followers for Lord Vytelus. It attacks by creating an X-shaped beam at a player, inflicting a stun and an Anti-Healing effect for three seconds.
Dracanic Familiar
The Dracanic Familiar is a ranged-type mob. The Dracanic Familiars are entities that serves in the Dracani army. The Dracanic Familiar only has a head with two wings from behind, and also having to be a created from Lumenflame magic. The Dracanic Familiar attacks by creating a line in front of itself like basic ranged mobs that lingers for five seconds dealing damage.
Bosses
Gilded Skies has three bosses, consisting of two mini-bosses and a main boss at the end of the dungeon. Each normal boss attack deals between 292M and 390M damage on Insane and between 490M and 630M damage on Nightmare difficulty.
Archpriest Kiryne
Archpriest Kiryne is the first boss of this dungeon. She is encountered in the 3rd room. Kiryne is a humanoid Dracani that is 3rd in command of the Dracani army. She wears a mage robe, has two horns, the last pupil of Adelys, loyal to Lord Vytelus, an intelligent Dracani, and is an expert on using Lumenflame magic. Kiryne has a total of six moves (one being passive).
Lumenflame Burst [Passive]: Every ~9 seconds, Kiryne will passively summon a spiral beam that will deal 12-15x boss damage. To avoid the attack, players will have to face their avatar away from Kiryne until the "Look Away" text disappears (at least 180 degrees away).
Lumenflame Blast: Then, the statue behind her representing the Gilded Skies emblem will start firing lasers at four random players in the field. Players will have to constantly move to avoid the beam to prevent from taking any damage.
Lumenflame Shockwave: Next, a few green circles appear in the arena, which will protect players from getting damaged by Kiryne's shockwave which then activates after a few seconds for about 5x boss damage.
Lumenflame Orbs: 1-3 purple orbs (depending on player count) also spawn at the same time and each of them will move to a random player, dealing 2x boss damage to anyone in its way, and 3x when it reaches its target's location. The orbs will repeat this cycle three times before it disappears.
Lumenflame Circles: The next move is the red circular attacks which will form in a curved line, damaging players and stunning them. The stunning effect is post-mortem.
Lumenflame Beams: During the Lumenflame Circle attack, it is followed by serval vertical beams. The Lumenflame Circles attacks and Lumenflame Beams will be used through out of the fight, and then the cycle repeats.
Archpriest Kiryne has a base of 20.84Q HP on Insane and 44.37Q HP on Nightmare difficulty.
General Cragg
General Cragg is the second boss of this dungeon, he is encountered in the 7th room. General Cragg is a tall and muscular humanoid Dracani that is 2nd in command of the Dracani army. He wears warrior armor, has two horns spreading out from each other, has spiky hair, is loyal to Lord Vytelus, is holding a spear at his right hand, and a shield at his left hand. Cragg has a total of eight moves (one being passive).
Red Beams [Passive]: Upon entering the arena, about every ~7 seconds, Cragg will scatter five sets of several vertical lines in random places.
General's Slam: Cragg will then slam the ground with his spear, releasing expanding rings (similar to Bob The Frost Giant's attack in Northern Lands) but in six directions. The ring will also hit right where he slammed the spear at so going directly under him.
Chain Link: Next, one or two players (depending on how many players are in the arena) will be randomly linked with an explosive orb, which will explode and damage all players with at least 6x boss damage. If the linked player does not touch it before the 8th Red Beam. The orb and chain will quickly damage anyone else not linked up to the specific set.
Cursed Flames: Cragg will then target a random player, indicated by a red glow, meaning that they are flame-cursed. Five lingering circles will also constantly appear at the targeted player. After two lingering circles, a second wave of the Red Beams attack will occur as well.
Flame Burst: During the Curse Flame attack, Cragg will attack the entire arena. Players need to enter the safety rings to prevent from taking any damage (they will move depending on the players positions),while also dodging the last two of the ten scattered Red Beams.
X-Blast: Then, Cragg will then summon three X-beams which will hit for over 1.5x boss damage per line spawning directly over a randomized player.
Pulsing Beam: During the X-Blast attack, a pulsing purple beam will move down the arena (with a similar style of the Sea Kingās grid attack and Goliath's Electric Grid but in any direction vertically or horizontally), that stuns a player on hit with 2.5x boss damage. It is noted that the Pulsing Beams will almost instantly detonate making it imperative to predict and avoid getting sandboxed by other attacks. The stunlock is also post-mortem.
Falling Boulder: Cragg will then toss a big boulder to the sky that will fall and will target a random player, which can tell by an expanding warning circle. This will hit for at least 9x boss damage. The whole cycle repeats after that.
General Cragg has a base of 20.84Q HP on Insane and 44.37Q HP on Nightmare difficulty.
Vytelus, the Dragon Lord
Vytelus, the Dragon Lord is the final boss of Gilded Skies. He is encountered in the 10th room. Vytelus is the leader of the Dracani army, and being the last dragon lord in Gilded Skies. Vyletus is a tall humanoid Dracani that is holding a larger version of the Daybreak with no Gildensong, a master at using Lumenflame magic, small white hair at the chin, two wings behind him, and is also wearing a mage robe. Vytelus has a total of eight moves (one being passive).
Red Orbs [Passive]: Every ~2-3 seconds, Vytelus will passively summon red orbs from the edges of the arena, and will explode dealing 2.5x boss AoE damage to all players nearby if any player gets into contact with them, while also inflicting stun and Anti-Healing effects (there is a possibility that when players respawn at the final boss arena, the players that spawned in will trigger the red orbs damaging other players in the process due to the spawn layout).
Flame Barrage: Vytelus will create a straight fire line to a random player dealing at least 7x boss damage, with horizontal beams that deal 1.6x boss damage coming out next (similar to one of the Mage Overlord's moves in The Canals).
Spiral Snake: Meanwhile, a yellow orb will spawn at a random player, releasing spiraling circles (a similar fashion with Odin Reincarnation's passive ability), while also inflicting stun and the Anti-Healing debuff if hit.
Flashing Circles: After that, three cyan circles will flash once, one by one, which warns player to stay inside the circle's range before Vytelus does his area attacks (For example, after all three circles finished flashing, go to the first flashing circle area, and go to the next flashing circle area after the first area attack is done). The circle's locations are completely random, but may be memorized using the terrain, failing to do so makes them take at least 8x boss damage.
Purple Circles: During the Flashing Circle's dodging process, purple curved circles will appear at the first area attack, stunning players if hit (Similar to Sangor, the Bloodthirsty's Blood Circles and also Archpriest Kiryne's Lumenflame Circles but denser.)
Lumenflame Walls: After that, Vytelus will summon a few fire walls that move along the arena. Players will have to find and go through the gap in order to survive. The fire walls will deal high amounts of rapid damage towards to the player by just touching it once.
Color Burst Strike: Vytelus's next ability shares a similar method with Odin Reincarnation's colored beams in Northern Lands. There will be three zones consisting of a purple triangle, yellow circle, and a cyan diamond. Whatever shape is above the player must correspond with one of the zones. Players will only have four seconds to enter the correct zone before Vytelus finishes channeling. After the four seconds, an explosion will occur, damaging players that is not in their correct zone.
Purple Circles + Spiral Snake: After the Color Burst Strike attack, Vytelus will summon another yellow orb at a random player, finishing it off with the purple curved circles once again. The cycle repeats after.
Vyletus, the Dragon Lord's theme is (raw) Vytelus. Vytelus has a base of 20.84Q HP on Insane and 44.37Q HP on Nightmare difficulty.

Tips and Recommendations
- Like in Northern Lands, players can't solely rely on healers not only because of the -heal effect, but also how due to the strength of the bosses.
- Most abilities can kill dps players in one hit, and they can't be taunted. For this reason, Tank/Healer doesn't help much at this point.
- To dodge a Dracani Mage easily, face it and move directly in front/back/left/right directions.
- When fighting Archpriest Kiryne, it is recommended to avoid the left side of the arena since the terrain may block the beams. Also be careful when entering the 6th room.
- When dealing with 6th room, It is best for one player to lure down all of the mobs that are in Archpriest Kiryne's room, so the mobs will pay attention to the one player that is attacking the mobs so the mobs won't attack the team. But still beware of some ranged attacks, however.
Trivia
- Gilded Skies, The Underworld, Samurai Palace and Yokai Peak have the most rooms (10) out of any dungeon.
- Gilded Skies is the second map which includes mobs and boss sharing the same room, after Enchanted Forest.
- The icons of the Gilded Skies abilities received massive visual improvement compared to old dungeons.
- Gilded Skies was the first dungeon that has received an overall buff.
- The respawn time was the usual five seconds when the dungeon released.
- This was buffed an hour after the dungeon released to be ten seconds instead of five seconds.
- This was nerfed shortly before the Christmas 2022 event to 7.5 seconds while also reducing the Dracani Mage's stun and Anti-Healing time from five seconds to three seconds.
- The minion/boss HP and their damage was nerfed in a balance change update sometime around the Vintage Vault event
- The minion HP was nerfed from 7.4Q to 5.34Q on Insane and from 15.6Q to 10.24Q on Nightmare
- The boss HP was nerfed from 22.2Q to 20.84Q on Insane and from 46.79Q to 44.37Q on Nightmare
- Before a certain update since Yokai Peak, all bosses used to have red outlines which can be seen through objects.
- The mascot for Gilded Skies is Vytelus, the Dragon Lord.
- In Gilded Skies', it is theorized on why Vytelus doesn't hold the Gildensong is because that the Gildensong was created by his late wife Adelys, as the Daybreak is his weapon.
- The stain glass behind Vytelus was his late wife Adelys.
- Archpriest Kiryne is the second female boss to be presented in the game. The first being the Spider Queen that is from Pirate Island.
- It is unknown on why Kiryne's title is "Archpriest Kiryne" instead of "Archpriestess Kiryne" despite her being a female. This is most likely a grammar mistake.
- There's a glitch that if you taunt the mobs and use Fireball on them, they remain stationary for the entire game.
- However, the Dracani Mage and the Dracanic Familiar, being that they are ranged mobs, can still attack even when stationed.
- Vytelus, the Dragon Lord is the only live-entity boss in Dungeon Quest that lacks idle animation.
- In the concept art, Archpriest Kiryne and Genaral Cragg were supposed to have Gilded Skies weapons. While Kiryne was supposed to use the Oathsworn Staff and Tome, and Cragg using the Gildenscale Oath And Aegis. The idea got scrapped, and when the dungeon was officially released, Cragg received a unique set of weapons, while Kiryne uses her hands to cast Lumenflame magic.
- Gilded Skies is the first non-event dungeon to drop a Legendary Cosmetic Title.
- Gilded Skies and Yokai Peak are currently the only two non-event dungeons to drop at least one Legendary Cosmetic Armor.
- In the lore, Cragg has a daughter named Tii, who is the leader of the Dracani Knights and is the queens royal guard.
- Gilded Skies is the first dungeon beyond Volcanic Chambers to not drop Legendary abilities. The second is Yokai Peak.
