King's Castle is the fourth dungeon in Dungeon Quest. It was released on 2019-04-06. This dungeons theme is based on the medieval times. It is available at level 70 for Insane difficulty and level 75 for Nightmare difficulty.
King's Castle consists of two mini-bosses, and a main boss at the end of the dungeon. This dungeon features a normal melee enemy, a normal ranged enemy, and a special melee enemy with a unique attack pattern known as the Hitman. When running this dungeon, it is recommended to have 15K+ HP for Insane difficulty, and 25K+ HP for Nightmare difficulty. Players have eleven minutes to clear the dungeon.
The main theme is (raw) Finish the Fight.
Mobs
All of the mobs have 1.65M HP and deal around 1.76K damage per hit on Insane difficulty, and have 4.24M HP and about 4.1K damage per hit on Nightmare difficulty.
King's Guard
The King's Guard is a melee-type mob. The King's Guard appears to be a human wearing knight armor, is equipped with a sword, and is loyal to The King. They are fully physical and have a normal walkspeed, and will only deal damage when they get close to a player. Their damage can stack if they are grouped up with other Guards.
Elementalist
The Elementalist is a ranged-type mob. The Elementalist appears to be a human wearing mage gear, holding a staff, can use magic, and is loyal to The King. They are fully ranged and have a slow walkspeed. They will keep shooting even if there are no nearby players if they have been aggravated. The Elementalist will aim a purple rectangle with a small width and long-range in the direction they are facing. Their spell attack fires quickly after being aimed. There is a short cooldown before they can fire again.
Hitman
The Hitman is a melee-type mob with a unique attack and AI. The Hitman is a human wearing all black outfit, having two daggers, and is mostly hired by The King. The Hitman has a very fast walkspeed and can easily catch up to players. When they get close to a player they will start to attack, with the range of their weapons indicated by a red rectangle immediately in front of them. They attack quickly, but as long as the player continues to move directly toward or away from the Hitman, they will not hit the player.
Bosses
King's Castle has three bosses, consisting of two mini-bosses and a main boss at the end of the dungeon. Each mini-boss has a base health of 7.11M HP on Insane difficulty, and 19.09M HP on Nightmare difficulty. The main boss will have a base health of 9.95M HP on Insane difficulty, and 30.55M HP on Nightmare difficulty.
Beast Master
The Beast Master is the first mini-boss the player will encounter on King's Castle, located in the 3rd room. The Beast Master is equipped with a Goblin Cleaver and a Beastly Guardian Set. The Beast Master is 3rd in command of The King's army, and is loyal towards to The King. The battle will begin after a player walks far enough into the thin corridor, or if a player died at any point before reaching him. His attacks typically hit wide areas while within a narrow hallway, so maneuverability is key. The Beast Master has a total of two attacks.
Beast Flames: The Beast Master starts off by covering the sides with solid lines that deal a total of four ticks of damage. A checkered pattern will make its way down the center of the corridor, with each piece dissipating after half a second and dealing damage to any player within them. The sides will then open up. After two seconds, the center will become covered in a solid line that deals four ticks of damage. The checkered pattern will make its way along the sides of the corridor, with the tighter space and other props making it a bit harder to dodge than the previous set.
Beast Spin: Beast Master's second attack is a close-range melee attack that will deal damage to anybody that is standing too close to him. When the circle appears, he will begin to rotate before spinning around and swinging his weapon. After this attack concludes, the attacks will repeat again until he is defeated. The entire cycle takes about ~14 seconds to complete.
The Beast Master has a base health of 7.11M HP on Insane and 19.09M HP on Nightmare difficulty. Each attack does around 4.7K on Insane and around 8.23K on Nightmare difficulty.
Arch-Mage
The Arch-Mage is the second mini-boss the player will encounter on King's Castle, located in the 5th room. They are equipped with a purple Celestial Fire Staff, an Arch-Mage Set with a hood instead of a crown, and a purple Innervate effect. The Arch-Mage is 2nd in command of The King's army, and is loyal towards to The King. The encounter will begin after a player walks into the room, or if a player died at any point before reaching him. The Arch-Mage has a total of three moves (one being passive).
Explosive Books [Passive]: During the fight, multiple AoE circles with books hovering above them will randomly spawn throughout the room. These books take a long time to explode when compared to the Arcane attacks.
Arch Beam: The Arch-Mage will typically start out by using this attack. This attack will shoot a large magic line at the closest player, regardless of the amount of damage or taunting they have done. This attack appears again after two seconds, and again after another three seconds (2-3 repeating cycle).
Arch Grid: Every two Arch Beams used, a grid of small lines will fire from all sides and across the entire room before he fires yet another Arcane Beam. There is typically a rectangle or square in between the lines to dodge the attack and repeats every ~5 seconds.
The Arch-Mage has a base health of 7.11M HP on Insane and 19.09M HP on Nightmare difficulty. Each attack does around 4.1K on Insane and around 6.47K on Nightmare difficulty.
The King
The King is the main boss on King's Castle, located in the 8th room. The King is a giant humanoid being that wields two fiery swords, and a modified Godly Guardian Set with red details. The King has a total of three moves (one being passive).
Global Lava [Passive]: If any player enters the throne room, then The King will summon lava, covering the entirety of the map excluding the eighth room. The lava deals 2K per tick on Insane and 5K per tick on Nightmare.
Lava Lash: The King starts out by raising his swords into the air, marking the area in which a long-range lash of lava will hit. When he swings his swords back down, anybody within the marked area will take damage. The King aims this attack at a random player, and he does this a total of three times each rotation. This attack would later become a spell known as Lava Lash.
King's Jump: After the set of Lava Lashes, The King will then locate a random player within the room. He will then mark their position with a very large AoE circle that does damage to anybody within it after three seconds, which is when he lands inside it. After landing, the attack cycle will repeat. On every other attack rotation, a dense fog will cover the room before he uses this attack.
The King's theme is (raw) Incoming. The King has a base health of 9.95M HP on Insane difficulty, and 30.55M HP on Nightmare difficulty. Each attack does an average of 5.29K on Insane difficulty, and 11.17K on Nightmare difficulty.
Rooms
The spawn is located at the edge of a small wooded area on a road with a broken down wagon off to the side. The road continues through the wooded area until it reaches the exterior castle wall. Inside of this wall is a bridge extending over a moat to the interior castle wall. Inside of this second wall is a small castle town, which is guarded by the Beast Master. Defeating him opens the door to the entrance of the castle with a large stairway. To the left of the entrance is a small corridor that leads to a library with the Arch-Mage standing guard. Defeating him unlocks the door to the right of the entrance on the lower floor, which is located behind the stairway when leaving from the library. This door leads out to a small courtyard within the castle. This courtyard leads into a long hallway with tall windows and pillars lining both sides. At the end of the hallway is a very large room with a throne that The King is standing in front of. An Egg can be found behind this throne.
