The Ready Player Two event was an official Roblox event that took place in Dungeon Quest as well as 6 other games. In Dungeon Quest's portion of the event, players must go through two steps to obtain a badge that rewards the Chaotic Top Hat avatar item.
How to Access the Glitch Dungeon[]
Step 1 - Gems[]
Players have to touch 7 gems located in Lobby 1 following a specific pattern; red, yellow, blue, cyan, white, purple, and green. The location of each gem is specified below:
- Red Gem: From spawn, head toward the bridge and continue on the path past the training dummies. When the path takes a sharp right turn, head to the nearest tree from the path.
- Yellow Gem: From the red gem, head back across the bridge and then up the hill behind the sell merchant. Keep climbing the hill until reaching the large wall, and then stay along the wall.
- Blue Gem: Keep following the wall and travel straight toward the orange tree. At the orange tree, take a left and head to the nearest tree with leaves on it.
- Cyan Gem: Head back into town to the sell merchant. There is an underwater tunnel near the bridge that the player must swim into. Facing toward where the red gem was found, it is to the right of the bridge.
- White Gem: After passing the Advanced training dummies and a log, immediately take a right and head up the hill to the tree just past the wooden overhang of the training area.
- Purple Gem: Head toward the dock and then toward the large door with a broken crystal. Facing the large door, it is over a small hill immediately to the right.
- Green Gem: Travel to the spawn. There is a blue house close to spawn with a path going underneath a section of the house toward a set of crystals and minecarts. There is a small opening that the player can climb into, which a corridor leading to an obby. After completing most of the obby, the player must enter a tunnel at the end of a minecart track.
Step 2 - Code Door[]
After collecting the gems in the correct order, players must then make their way to the cave at the end of the creek, located near the sell merchant. A keypad will appear if the gems were collected in the correct order. There is a 6-digit code for the keypad hidden behind the bars. Upon entering the correct code and pressing the green arrow, players will be transported to the event dungeon.
[The original process is no longer necessary for the completion of this event.] |
After collecting all the gems, 5 lanterns around the map will start flashing on and off. These lanterns are used to formulate a 6 digit code. Of the 5 lanterns, for each digit of the code, the amount of lanterns that light up indicated the digit used in the code. For example, if 3 lanterns light up, the digit was 3. Lanterns would flash on and off 6 times before all of them turned off for a few seconds. The best vantage point is located on the large wall to the right of the cave, which can be climbed by using a tree behind it. |
While the lanterns are still fully functional, this step is now unnecessary. |
Glitch Dungeon[]
The Glitch dungeon can be accessed after following the steps listed above. There is no level requirement to access the dungeon, and it can only be played solo. Players have a 15 minute time limit to complete the dungeon, and the timer starts counting after exiting the spawn room.
The soundtrack for this dungeon includes a Questing theme (Glitch (a)) and a Boss theme (Matrix). The questing theme starts when the player leaves the spawn room. The boss theme starts when the player brakes the 2nd energy barrier.
Gameplay[]
The weapon, armor, abilities, and level are pre-set upon entering the Glitch dungeon.
The Q slot ability is Phase Barrage, which fires three energy waves forwards, each dealing 25 damage, with a cooldown of 6 seconds that starts counting down immediately after use. The E slot ability is Chain Phase Shock, which creates a stationary orb that charges up for 1 second before exploding and dealing 65 damage to nearby enemies, with a cooldown of 4 seconds that starts after the orb has exploded. The player is able to deal melee damage and activates Phase Barrage during the Chain Phase Shock attack, but can not do the same when using Phase Barrage first.
The player deals 10 melee damage per click, and the player's armor provides them with 50 health, for a total of 150 health. The player has three lives, each of which can only be lost while fighting The Glitch boss in Room 4.
Rooms[]
Room 1 - Spawn[]
The first room, which is where the player spawns, is a purely decorative room in which players can test their abilities. After touching the glowing wall, the player was teleported into the next room, and the timer began to count down.
Room 2[]
To progress to the next room, the player must attack and destroy EnergyBarrier1 using their melee damage and abilities. EnergyBarrier1 has a total of 270 health.
Room 3 - Platforming[]
The third room consists of platforming and a second barrier door. The player must traverse to the other side of a ravine without falling, otherwise they die and are teleported back to the start of the room, though without losing a life. Upon reaching the other side, the player must attack and destroy EnergyBarrier2 using their melee damage and abilities. EnergyBarrier2 has a total of 270 health.
Room 4 - Boss[]
The fourth room is the boss room, where The Glitch is fought. The boss has 1,000 health and uses an attack cycle, with each attack dealing anywhere from 9 to 11 damage.
Phase 1[]
Burst - A 5-line attack that is aimed toward the player. Each line is aimed in a slightly angled direction from one another.
Release - Alternating red and blue lines that shoot in a sunbeam pattern from the boss and across the arena; there was no stat difference between the colors.
Takeover - Created multiple circles around the arena in a short timeframe, with each dealing damage after a delay.
Digital Erosion - This attack covers the entire arena except behind the cover of two servers located away from the boss. If the player is not behind the server boxes, the attack will deal damage after three seconds.
The attack pattern for Phase 1 is as follows: Burst, Release, Takeover, Burst, Burst, Digital Erosion.
Phase 2[]
Energy Sources - After the boss falls below 500 HP, its facial expression changes and it creates two energy sources with 300 HP each that provides a shield from all attacks. Every 7 seconds, the boss passively heals 30 HP per active source until both sources has been destroyed.
Auto Attack - Two lines is a plus (+) shape spawn on the player with a random rotation. This attack only occurs while the Energy Sources are active.
After the Energy Sources has been destroyed, the attack cycle will return to Phase 1 until the boss is defeated.
When the boss is defeated, the room's lighting will change from red to cyan.
Rewards[]
This dungeon does NOT grant any experience, cosmetics, gold, or other in-game rewards.
After the first defeat, the player will be awarded with the Meet the developer! badge. The badge most likely received this name to hide the existence of an RP2 item in the game before its discovery.
The first completion of this dungeon also grants the Chaotic Top Hat accessory on Roblox. This accessory has a chance of not dropping with the hat and may need to be attempted a few times in order to receive it. Ensure that the badge is not in your inventory prior to re-attempting.
Trivia[]
- This is the second time Dungeon Quest has been featured in an official Roblox event, with the previous being the Egg Hunt 2020: Agents of E.G.G. event.
- If a player has the badge already, the code door can still be used upon rejoining the lobby, albeit with a different code. Players will not need to repeat the process to access the dungeon.
- However, when the devs released a backend update on 2023-08-08, players who have already got the badge still have to touch the gems to make the keypad appear, the code is still behind the bars.
- Between 2022-12-25 and 2023-02-11, the dungeon was made inaccessible due to the 2022 Christmas Event, which used a map from before this event's creation. After the map was reverted, it became possible to complete again.
