The Canals is the 7th dungeon in Dungeon Quest. It was released on 2019-07-17. Players will need to be level 100 to play Insane, and level 105 to play Nightmare. The Bodyguard is the basic melee enemy, and the Dark Magician is the basic ranged enemy. This dungeon has two mini-bosses and one main boss. The theme of this dungeon is mostly based on Venice, a city in Italy.
It is recommended to go into Insane with 200K-250K HP and approximately 300K-400K for Nightmare. Players have ten minutes to clear the dungeon.
The main theme is (raw) Battlefield.
Mobs
In The Canals, there are three different types of mobs. The Bodyguards and the Dark Magicians have a base health of 404.98M, and can deal ~22.5K damage on Insane difficulty. They also have a base health of 1.28B, and can deal ~37.5K damage on Nightmare difficulty.
Bodyguard
The Bodyguard is the melee-type mob. The Bodyguard is a human wearing white clothes, having two daggers, and have battle scars in front of its face. It has similar AI to other melee enemies, including the Sand Peasant, Sand Giant, Frost Minion, Ice Minion, Pirate Savage, King's Guard, Demon Warrior, and Samurai Swordsman. It will chase the closest player or the player that has done the most damage to them unless it has been taunted. They have a base HP of 404.98M and do ~22.5K damage per hit on Insane, and have a base HP of 1.28B and do around ~37.5K damage on Nightmare. Bodyguards move much faster than most enemies from previous dungeons, having the same base movement speed as the player and requiring the use of a speed potion or spell that grants increased movement speed to outrun them.
Dark Magician
The Dark Magician is a ranged-type mob. It is wearing black clothes and is holding a pike in its right hand. The Dark Magician has similar AI to other ranged enemies. It has a faster walk speed than all other ranged enemies, and its attack hits very quickly with a very high range, making it difficult to dodge. It will target the closest player or the player that has done the most damage to them unless it is taunted. They have a base HP of 404.98M and do around ~22.5K damage on Insane, and have a base HP of 1.28B and do around ~37.5K damage on Nightmare.
Magic Minion
The Magic Minion is a summoned mob that is created by the Mage Overlord. The Magic Minion is a blue humanoid created by magic. It will look for the nearest player, and only disappears after 4 seconds. If the minion touches a player, it creates a large AoE explosion that deals twice the amount of damage as the other boss attacks. This mob is not able to be taunted. Unlike all other entities, this mob does not have a visible health bar. Despite this, it has the same amount of HP as the Mage Overlord, and can still detonate on contact even after being vanquished until it fully disappears. Note that the Magic Minion will always have the same amount of health as the Mage Overlord.
Bosses
Mage Overlord
The Mage Overlord is the first mini-boss in The Canals. The Mage Overlord is wearing the Overlord's Mage set, is holding an Elementalist Staff with its right hand, has not mouth, and having two glowing red eyes. The Mage Overlord has a total of three moves.
Slow Orbs: The Mage Overlord's first attack sends out multiple small, slow-traveling orbs over time, targeting players at random.
Magic Line: Next, it fires a magic beam at a nearby player, which is quickly followed up by multiple beams perpendicular to the first. A recommended strategy for this is to go as close as players can to the overlord with a speed boost abilities such as Vortex, Blade Storm, or Illusion Blast and flee when the perpendicular beams appear to avoid all of the beams without dodging.
Magical Summoning: The last attack summons a spiral of magic, which then quickly creates a Magic Minion, which runs towards players and explodes for heavy damage upon touch, and disappears if no contact is made after four seconds.
The Mage Overlord has a base health of 1.96B HP on Insane, and 5.6B HP on Nightmare difficulty.
Guardian Overlord
The Guardian Overlord is the second mini-boss in The Canals. The Guardian Overlord is wearing the Overlord's Guardian set, is holding the Giant Royal Axe with its right hand, having no mouth, and having two glowing red eyes. The Guardian Overlord has a total of three moves.
X-Strike: The first attack consists of the Guardian Overlord creating two beams going through them, which then explode, and then another two beams at the bisector of the previous beams come and explode much quicker. The strategy here is to go toward the place where the first two beams strike, as the next ones cannot hit players.
Blood Crescent: The Guardian Overlord then spins around, sending out four-slow red crescent-like projectiles. When a beam is touched, it explodes, creating a huge AoE and mediocre damage.
Red Sword: The Guardian Overlord can also create a red sword from the sky, which slowly descends onto a player. If the player is hit by the sword, all players receive huge damage. To stop the damage, the player targeted by the sword must go into a safe zone randomly placed in the arena, which is blue and has rings rising from it, with the word 'Safe'.
The Guardian Overlord has a base health of 1.96B HP on Insane, and 5.6B HP on Nightmare difficulty.
Warrior Overlord
The Warrior Overlord is the final boss of The Canals. The Warrior Overlord is wearing the Overlord's Warrior set with the Overlord's Rageblade on its right hand, the Overlord's Manablade on its left hand. It has no mouth, and only has two glowing red eyes. The Warrior Overlord has a total of three moves (one being passive).
Purple Beams [Passive]: Throughout the fight, passively, beams will rapidly come from arcs, constantly covering the arena in danger. Occasionally, the beams also have a chance to stack on one another, hitting multiple times.
Lightning Strike: The Warrior Overlord will raise the Rage Blade to the sky, and will cast down three medium radius circles on each player.
Overlord Burst: Then, the Warrior Overlord will begin charging up for eight seconds, indicated by a light purple spring/spiral surrounding him, with a blue forcefield sphere appearing far to the left or right of him. An arrow will constantly floats above the forcefield, and going in it gives the player a long-lasting forcefield, which nullifies damage from the charge attack. Upon the charge being complete, it deal heavy towards to all players around the map that does not have the force field around them.
The Warrior Overlord's theme is (raw) Leader. The Warrior Overlord has a base health of 2.16B HP on Insane, and 5.89B HP on Nightmare difficulty. It typically does 45K-50K damage on Insane, and does 62.5K-75K damage on Nightmare difficulty.

Trivia
- The room where the Warrior Overlord is located is a reference to Piazza San Marco (also known as St. Mark's Square in English) in Venice. The tower used for circle attack is also the clock tower of the square (though it lacks a pointy roof).
- The Canals is the first dungeon to introduce the Dungeon Quest term "Nuking/Nuke," which means damaging teammates.
- The rifle on the Sniper Mercenary cosmetic resembles a Model 1859 Sharps rifle, a falling block action gun and part of a series of guns first made in 1848 by Christian Sharps.
- The mascot for The Canals is the Warrior Overlord.
- The Dark Magician is currently the only mob that has the fastest walk speed then any other range mob.
- The Old Lobby was changed to the New Lobby, when The Canals was released.
