This article is about the in-game feature.
It is recommended to use the Dungeon Quest discord server if you would like to trade.

Trading is a mechanic in Dungeon Quest which allows players to give each other items usually in return for something else; however, players can give items without receiving anything in return. Each player can trade up to 21 items from their inventory, but equipped items cannot be traded and must be unequipped in order to be used in trading. Both players are required to accept in order for a trade to go through, with a 5-second grace period allowing for either party to back out. If a player places an item onto the trade offer after the other player has pressed Accept, they will need to re-accept.

Process[]

Requesting a Trade[]

After clicking on another player's name, the option to request a trade or view their current set will appear.

To request a trade, a player must first click on the Show Players button in the top right corner. Then, scroll through the list to find the other player and click on their name. After clicking on their name, the option to trade them (or inspect their current set) will appear. After clicking the button to Trade the other player, they will need to accept or decline the request. If the other player accepts the trade request, then the trading menu will pop up in the center of the screen, assuming either party does not start a dungeon or leave the server.

Trading[]

Interface

The trading menu

While trading, neither party can view the other player's inventory; only items placed within the Offer section on the left-hand portion of the Trade menu can be viewed and inspected by the other player.
When both players accept a trade, they will have 5 seconds to cancel before it goes through, in case they have second thoughts. If an item is placed on the trade by either party after somebody has accepted, both players will need to reaccept to start the countdown. Exiting out of the trade menu or starting a dungeon terminates the trade.

Other Trading Information[]

Disable

The option to disable trading.

  • Both parties are able to trade and receive items that have a higher requirement to use than their current level, but they will still be unable to equip the item until reaching the necessary level.
  • Multiple copies of abilities or items with the exact same stats (commonly referred to as Duplicates) are not able to be given in the same trade. To trade two of the same ability or other matching item, another trade must be made.
  • As of now, players are not able to trade gold directly. Likewise, players that say they are "selling for gold" are referring to the combined sell value of multiple items.
  • There is an option to disable Trading in the Settings located at the bottom right corner of the screen. Disabling the Trade feature makes it so all incoming requests are blocked, but it also prevents trading with other players. When leaving the server for a dungeon or another lobby, this feature automatically enables itself again.
  • Caution is advised when trading with unknown players. There is no way to roll back lost items in Dungeon Quest, including items lost from getting scammed. There are a few notable tactics other players use to try and deceive unsuspecting users, and being aware of them will help to keep from losing items;
    • One common example involves a player promising to carry in order to receive an equipped item (typically a legendary or certain armor piece). Some solutions to this include refusing their offer or not fulfilling their request until they carry a sufficient amount and also supply a better replacement.
    • Another common example involves a player promising to upgrade an equipped item (typically a legendary or certain armor piece). The best solution to this is to refuse their offer.
