Volcanic Chambers is the eleventh dungeon in Dungeon Quest. It was released on 2020-07-03, and followed the release of Orbital Outpost five months prior. The dungeon has two mini bosses and one main boss. The theme of the dungeon is volcano based.

Volcanic Chambers requires players to be level 150 for Insane difficulty, and level 155 for Nightmare difficulty. The recommended minimum health for Insane difficulty is 42M HP and 60M HP for Nightmare. Players have twelve minutes to clear the dungeon.

The main theme is (raw) Proud Heroes A.

Mobs

Volcanic Chambers has three different mobs all with a unique function. Each mob has 5.23T base health on Insane difficulty, and 12.63T base health on Nightmare difficulty. On Insane difficulty, the regular mobs deal 7.8M damage, and on Nightmare difficulty, the mobs deal 11.7M damage.

Aggressive Lava Walker

Aggressive Lava Walker

An Aggressive Lava Walker

The Aggressive Lava Walker is the fastest mob in Volcanic Chambers, and is a melee-typed mob. It's a rock being having six legs, and red outlines being lava. It will engage the player by chasing them and when close enough, emit a large rectangular attack. Players who get hit will be stunned for a little while, much like Lord Varosh's line attack. Once it finishes its attack, it will stop moving for a few seconds before attempting to attack the player again. These Walkers live up to their name because they can track the players from any range, and will slowly but steadily reach the player and attack it again. The player to avoid this mob could face the Lava Walker, then speed away with a movement boost ability to avoid its attack, then attack the mob while it is reloading its attack.

Explosive Lava Walker

Explosive Lava Walker

An Explosive Lava Walker

The Explosive Lava Walker is the second fastest mob in Volcanic Chambers, and is an AoE-typed mob.. It's a rock being having six legs, has a volcanic-like hole on top of it, and the outlines are orange being lava. It will target the nearest player and emit an AoE circle that grows larger as the attack continues. This attack can be avoided by outrunning this enemy without strafing to the side.

Artillery Lava Walker

Artillery Lava Walker

An Artillery Lava Walker

The Artillery Lava Walker is the slowest mob in Volcanic Chambers, having the same model as the Explosive Lava Walker only its outline being yellow. It is a ranged-type mob. The Artillery Lava Walker will stop and will fire three lava balls at the targeted player and can deal AoE damage if any players are in contact with the lava balls. Players are recommended to move in one direction to dodge its attacks.

Searing Orb

Searing Orb

A Searing Orb

Searing Orbs are summoned mobs that are spawned by the Ancient Lava Mage. It is an immobile red mob that has a orb in the center having two circles cycling around it. These mobs spawn around the edges of the 2nd room and occasionally fire a large beam toward a random player. Searing Mobs spawn after every other attack cycle, and up to eight can be present at once. Searing Orbs stop spawning and attacking after the Ancient Lava Mage is defeated. No EXP is granted from defeating them.

Bosses

Volcanic Chambers has a total of three bosses, consisting of two mini-bosses and a main boss at the end of the dungeon. Each normal boss attack deal 12M damage on Insane and 16.25M damage on Nightmare difficulty.

Ancient Lava Mage

Ancient Lava Mage

The Ancient Lava Mage

The Ancient Lava Mage is the first boss of Volcanic Chambers, encountered after the first stage. The Ancient Lava Mage is a floating being that has an orange torso, a black helmet with two orange eyes, and can cast spells. This boss has a total of four moves.

Homing Orbs: The Ancient Lava Mage will launch a red orb at up to five players within the arena, each homing in on a set target and exploding on impact, dealing damage to nearby players. It is recommended to strafe in one direction or to use a speed skill to outrun it.

Lava Snipe: Before the red orbs disappear, the Lava Mage will shoot a laser toward all players in the vicinity.

Lava Burst: During the Lava Sniper move, the Lava Mage will quickly summon red AoE circles to all players every player, each dealing up to six quick ticks of damage.

Searing Summoning: The Ancient Lava Mage will then spawn a Searing Orb along the sides of the arena, with the orb occasionally firing a large beam towards a random player. These can be destroyed if players attack them, but they grant no experience and are not necessary for the completion of the boss. Searing Orbs will continue to appear after every other cycle.

The Ancient Lava Mage has a base of 24.85T HP on Insane and 67.22T HP on Nightmare difficulty.

Deity of the Volcano

Deity of the Volcano

The Deity of the Volcano

Deity of the Volcano is the second mini-boss in Volcanic Chambers. The Deity of the Volcano is a giant rock humanoid being that is merged together which appears to be Lava Walker parts with orange outlines. Having spikes between the shoulders, and a molten face. Deity of the Volcano has four moves.

Crashing Boulder: The Deity will spawn boulders at the beginning of the fight on top of up to three players entering, with the inner portion dealing 320M damage, and the outer portion dealing a critical hit that does twice the damage of the base attack.

Lava Checkers: After this, a line will aim at all present players and the Deity will use both of its hand and will slam it into the ground, and the area will be covered with checkered beams. When the checkered beams disappear, the Crashing Boulder attack will appear again.

Lava Strike: The Deity will raise its hands and a bunch of lava lines will appear dealling damage to players if they touch it. After this attack, a geyser will appear.

Geyser Barrage: The main attacks will repeat at this point, and another geyser will typically appear every three rotations. When a geyser is active, AoE circles will start to appear and the attack rotation will become slightly faster. Each additional geyser increases the frequency of AoE circles and the speed at which the Deity attacks, with up to five being possible at once. It is recommended to stay near the Geysers so it is easier to contain them, as it can make the fight significantly harder to complete due to the speed of the attacks. Geysers can appear in the shape of a "C" facing toward the Deity, and the only way to get rid of a geyser is to carry a rock from the sides of the arena and walk over it. Rocks are only obtainable when a geyser is active, indicated by a glowing yellow ring, so going to them while there are no geysers will do nothing.

The Deity of the Volcano has a base of 24.85T HP on Insane and 67.22T HP on Nightmare difficulty.

Lava King

Lava King New

The Lava King

The Lava King is the final boss in Volcanic Chambers. The Lava King is the king of Volcanic Chambers. He is a floating being that is dual-wielding with axes, and is equipped with a helmet and torso armor. The lava king has a total of five moves.

Lava Sun Burst: This boss starts out with a two-pulse sunbeam attack, with the first showing where the attack will happen and the second dealing damage.

Lava Cross Slash: After that, the boss will target to a random player and will use a cross slash with the two beams intersecting where the target is. The best way to dodge this is to walk sideways, though walking forwards works when close enough.

Lava Bomb: Following this, a bomb orb will encompass a random player. The bomb orb will gradually shrink and will explode when small enough, dealing damage to all players. The only way to prevent the damage is for the target to be within a small green safe zone which spawns far from the boss, in which case the bomb orb will vanish instead of exploding.

Lava Chain: At around the same time the Lava Bomb attack is used, the boss will either use another Lava Cross Slash if there is only one player or create a player link if there are two or more. The player link will connect two random players, requiring both affected players to stand close to each other. Failure to do so will cause both players to take massive damage. The bomb orb and player link attacks often occur simultaneously, and players can receive both at the same time. After the Lava Chain attack, the boss uses the two-pulse sunbeam attack, followed by a cross slash, and then a cross slash/player link again.

Lava Barrage: Lava walls will start appearing after this and will encompass the arena, with random beams rapidly appearing for a few seconds. When the attack is nearly over, the boss will restart the cycle. All attacks except for the cross slash deal twice the normal damage.

The Lava King's theme is (raw) Epic Race. The Lava King has a base of 29.82T HP on Insane and 72.02T HP on Nightmare difficulty.

Tips and Recommendations

  • Smaller groups tend to work the best on this dungeon (about 5-6 players). While it is possible with more, the mini-bosses become much harder to fight in larger groups.
  • Speed skills are recommended if the loss of damage does not severely affect the run. The Inner Focus ability for mages and the Inner Rage ability for warriors are the most effective, as they provide both a speed and attack boost, and can be obtained from Insane difficulty. Legendary counterparts to these abilities (Enhanced Inner Focus for mages and Enhanced Inner Rage for warriors) can only be obtained in Nightmare difficulty.
  • Healers should use Life Dash when running the dungeon to keep up with damage-dealing players. On boss fights, Life Pulse tends to be more effective, especially if there is just one healer due to its range.
  • When fighting Lava King, there is a glitch that will cause bomb orb to stop appearing on players. To do this, simply trigger his attack and move out of the arena in a fashion similar to The King. Waiting outside of the arena until the second two-pulse sunbeam appears is all that is needed for the glitch to work. This is only recommended in small parties (typically with less than three players) since the player link still appears and it takes a considerable amount of time before players can complete the glitch.

Trivia

  • The mascot for Volcanic Chambers is the Lava King.
  • This is the first dungeon to feature legendary abilities, those being Enhanced Inner Rage and Enhanced Inner Focus.
  • This is the first dungeon to scrap the classic melee/ranged enemies. Each mob will either have enhanced attacks, or special abilities.
  • In this update, more things were introduced to the game such as: Shift-Lock and larger ability buttons for mobile users, EXP Boosts, Daily Reward refresh, Inventory limit and removal of borders around buttons for each dungeon and lobby (Excluding "Start" button).
